Ok, just so you are clear about it, I am not a real penguin. My head is not fixed to my body and I can totally rotate my face 180 degrees in almost all directions. I honestly think penguins are cute creatures, the ones we don’t get to see a lot and seldom, almost never, in this part of the world. It sort of started when I was a young dumb teen, I was suffering the net one day and then, I kind of spotted a site in which you can actually order penguins online. I was like; WTF … IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE!
The very next day, I started collecting money to accomplish my innocent dream. It was a dream about ME, PENGUIN and "HAPPILY EVER AFTER". My! It was THE DREAM! I also imaged that me and the penguin gonna have occasional tea parties in where we sit around a table and pretend to drink tea along with the other dolls and imaginary friends! We would talk about politics and have fancy conversations in british accent! I know! I was a messed up kid! I also thought about the equipments that might be needed such as a freezer and tons of fishes and octopuses. So I raised quiet a good amount of cash with the help of a part time job, but of course it wasn’t enough to ship a penguin to Kuwait!
So like a maniac, which most cases I am, I told few people about the idea of a penguin living in a dusty hot area. Some laughed, some thought I was literally mentally retarded and some just stared at me blankly as if they don’t see me anymore. In the end, only one person was kind enough to explain to me and convince me that this penguin won't survive in this place, no matter whatever cold environment I might provide. I didn’t give up easily, but reality and common sense definitely weren’t on my side.
My heart got broken, my dream had vanished and I thought about ending my life, nah just kidding, but I was sort of sad. I guess there is no perfect place in this world, but one thing for sure; I won't leave my wonderful country to live in the North Pole in a 4x4 tiny ice cube with the Eskimos in order to have a penguin as a pet.
